PTH is a subsidiary of Xtreme Habitats Institute, using the research and findings from XHI’s projects to create foldable, Alaska-suited homes. Executive Director of XHI Keith Comstock will be attending World of Concrete 2026 in Las Vegas, NV as a speaker on Jan 20th. He will be contributing applied field insights from Alaska’s Nome 3D concrete printing work. World of Concrete 2026 takes place at the Las Vegas Convention Center, with education running January 19–22 and exhibits January 20–22.

Keith will be featured in the industry training session “3D Concrete Printing – Success in Commercial Construction” (Session ID SIKTU) on Tuesday, January 20, 1:00–3:30 PM. The session, presented by Sika Corporation, covers innovations and optimizations in 3D concrete printing, and walks through the end-to-end process for producing structures, including equipment, materials, processes, and real-world 3D concrete printed structures.

Xtreme Habitats Institute has entered into a research consortium with Penn State University and the City of Nome, Alaska in order to ensure a collaborative approach to testing the viability of 3D concrete printing used for affordable housing in Alaska.

This research consortium was awarded a contract by the department of Housing and Urban Development for producing a 3D printed structure in Nome, AK, along with support from organizations such as the Denali Commission and the Alaska Housing Finance Commission.

We will be sharing a lot of informational videos on our experience using a mobile 3DCP system from X-HAB 3D and how we were able to overcome the extreme conditions (cold, rain, winds) to produce the FIRST 3DCP home in all of Alaska.
