Donate
XHI is a nonprofit research institute. Donations support field validation, workforce training, and publishable evidence that helps increase the availability of sustainable housing in extreme environments.
Where Your Donation Goes

Field Demonstrations
Deployments, monitoring, and real-world testing that turns new methods into defensible proof.

Workforce and Training
Training models that increase local participation while reducing dependence on scarce skilled trades.

Publishable Resources
Reports, datasets, checklists, and documentation that make adoption faster and more reliable.
How are donations used?
To date, donations have primarily been internally generated from board members’ individual giving. Any cash donations from the general public are to be used to support XHI’s mission work: applied research, demonstrations, publications/toolkits, community engagement, and workforce-related activities.
We also have a need for handy everyday items like tools and equipment. We especially have a need for cheap, reliable transportation that can be forward-deployed to remote locations. If you have a reliable truck or other piece of equipment that you would like to donate, such as a forklift or other heavy equipment, we will do our best to use it in the field. If a decision is made to not move a vehicle or other heavy equipment from a remote village or location, those items will either be donated to local charitable organizations or sold and the proceeds used to further our charitable activities.
